Throughout the year, select students from middle schools and high schools attend daily workshops showcasing the creative side of the manufacturing industry. Tours coupled with hands-on manufacturing activities fill the days. To experience YMA is to experience a true taste of manufacturing with its challenges and fulfilling accomplishments. You can’t beat it!
During 2015’s week-long Young Manufacturers Summer Academy, twenty-three Newark students ranging from middle to high school had the opportunity to learn about manufacturing, its revitalization in the U.S., and the STEM skills associated with the process. While visiting Sandvik Coromant, Stryker Corporation, FESTO Didactic.
Didactic Corporation, Weiss-Aug Co, Inc., EarthColor, Raritan Valley Community College, Pascack Hills High School and NJIT, they experienced “hands-on” manufacturing activities and also learned about the variety of educational pathways open to them in their pursuit of a rewarding career in manufacturing.
